Tips for a Healthy Body

These days physical beauty is a trait that is desired by all. By physical beauty we do not mean a beautiful and lovely face but, for men it would mean a lean, fit, and sculpted body, well defined muscles, six pack abs (preferably), strength and stamina etc. For women, physical beauty would involved more pronounced curves and addition to well-toned muscles. Men and women, both, are hitting the gym to get into shape. The idea of physical beauty conspires to aim towards being fit and healthy. Indirectly, in trying to achieve physical beauty we land up working towards the general well-being of our overall body.

Spend hours in the gym on a treadmill is not an option for all, especially for working mothers. In such a case, a few minor cheats will help you get that physical beauty that will make your body hale and hearty. All you need to do is incorporate a few minor changes in your day to day life.

  • Walk Wherever Possible –walking is a very good exercise. The best part about it is that you can pace it as per your mood I.e. you can walk slow, fast or medium paced. Walking will burn calories and tone your leg muscles. If you walk fast then, it will get your heart pumping more blood and increase the flow of oxygen throughout your body.
  • Take The Stairs - more often than not, we tend to take the elevator even if the destination is just a floor or two above or below. To be fit and healthy, you will have to give up this habit. Climbing and getting down the stairs is a very good exercise for the body. It can be done in any place where there are stairs to the office, apartment, shopping mall, etc.
  • Eat on Time – food takes the time to digest so, always ensure that you have reasonable meal timings. Always give time to your body to digest food so that, it can give you sufficient energy for the task at hand.Eating food just before some intense physical activity will make you sick. Healthy digestion is important for the body to stay fine-tuned, and that is possible only if you eat your meals on time.
  • Avoid Junk Food – Junk food is tasty but, hardly any good comes of it. Instead of junk food have a well-balanced diet of fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Keep Hydrated – sometimes we tend to mistake thirst for hunger. To avoid this and keep away from over eating one must always have plenty of water. Water also detoxifies the body. Hence, one must have around two litres or eight glasses of water every day.
  • No Late Nights – late nights tend to disrupt the routine of the body. Also, staying awake late into the night makes a person hungry. Eating at odd hours results in overeating and slow digestion.
  • Avoid Excessive Consumption of Alcohol and Aerated Drinks – alcohol harms the liver and aerated drinks are full of calories. As such, both are unhealthy and harm the body.
  • Cigarettes Are Harmful – cigarettes are bad for lungs and the same reason ever packet contains statutory warning. Give up smoking for a long and healthy life.
